Japan - Osaka 01 - 2005
Singapore was a blast... but we're now on our way to Japan via Singapore Airlines. After checking into the hotel, we dropped into Denden Town to do some camera shopping... this is THE place to go if you are in Osaka.
Japan - NYE (USJ) - 2005
Well.... I nearly lost this album. Thanks Rena!!.... Here it is, Universal Studios Japan for New Years Eve and we had a ball... I have to say, Sydney does a better job with fireworks, but the unlimited rides was great!
Japan - Osaka 02 - 2005
So... we'd settled in and received an offer to go to Nara and visit the largest wooden temple (and structure) in the world. The night before had been dinner and drinks.. and then karaoke (I've since been to karaoke 4 more times). Nara's beauty was amazing
Japan - Osaka 03 - 2005
The final chapter for Osaka. Grand Cafe was a really nice club where we (once again) stuck out like saw thumbs. THere is also a few good photos from a dinner party we had for all the Japanese students who'd studied at UC. And yeah... that's a chocolate br
Japan - Osaka 04 - 2005
The last chapter... I wanted to cry in the end. Osaka is my favourite city, I love it. The Regency Hyatt here was amazing, views seen in this album are taken from my window, although it was a little far out from the center of town. Bye guys, I'll miss yo
Japan - Kobe - 2005
In 1995, a major earthquake struck Kobe and did some serious damage. You wouldn't notice it now if you saw the city. There is one small memorial that tells the whole story, but apart from that, this is a massive city built up the side of a mountain range
Japan - Tokyo - 2005
Welcome to the capital of Japan! I got there a day earlier than Erana, Haruna and Yuji and so went exploring. I ended up visiting Harajuku, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Roppongi .... and a medical-asylum themed restaurant! I must say, this place is so busy and cro
Japan - Kyoto - 2005
My most favourite city so far... the original capital of Japan, Kyoto is just stunning. It's not as busy, not as hectic, and everyone is actually warm and welcoming. I took the tram straight up the mountain the first day I got there and the sights were st
Japan - Hiroshima - 2005
This was a sobering experience. Hiroshima was the site of the first atomic bomb in WW2 and the Japanese don't hold back when retelling the story. I felt ashamed to be caucasian in this place, but apart from that, the shopping was great!
Japan - Fukuoka/Miyazaki/Nagasaki - 2005
It's off to visit Clinton in Fukuoka (with a quick stop through Hiroshima). On the first day I travelled south-east to Miyazaki (through Kagoshima) to the Ocean Dome and stayed at the Sheraton Grande, very nice.
Singapore - The last chapter
5 Days in Singapore on the way back through wasn't enough. I tried to cover everything again, but the temptation of basking in the warm sun (over the snow in Japan) was just too great... many hours spent by the pool. I'll miss it, I must return.
Gunning
Shannon was in town for the weekend, so I pushed everyone to go to Gunning for the friday night. Running through a cemetary at 4am is fun... but it becomes shit scary when a random local decides to visit at the same time!
Hello Sasha!
This my cat. Turned up on the doorstep, stray, many moons ago (nearly 10 years!). Been loved ever since, unless my brother was making him do backflips. Yeah, Sasha can be a boy's name too!
My 21st BDay Party (Scanned Film)
These were all photos taken (mainly by mum) at my 21st. My birthday is July = Winter and it was BLOODY cold. We had a 44gal drum burning to keep everyone warm, but ended in the city... was great!
Graduation!
Bad photos. Bad Hat (should've opted for the bigger and more expensive version!) and yeah.. that's about that. 4 Years of University at it's climax and I just wanted to get out of there!
J-Club 1204 Beach Trip
What was to be the last trip as a student with the UCU Japanese Club. We all went for the weekend to Mogo and had a blast. As per usual, there was copious amounts of sun, sand and beer involved!
Shannon's 21st
Welcome to Gunning! Home to a whole 500 people... Complete with Nunnery (coverted into Shannon's parents house equipped with neighbouring cemetary). The following shots are of the bash that was Shannon's 21st Bday. Gawd bless her soul.
Hyatt Christmas Party 0602
The Hyatt always have their Christmas Parties late in the season. I reckon it's so us hooligans aren't running around the Hotel when important guests are around. Either way, nothing beats free grog.
Jason`s Surprise Party!
21st May, 2005. Meet Jason Fegan, a very good friend from Sydney who came down for the weekend into an [attempted] surprise bday party. The surprise failed, but we all had a great time.
2nd ODI Cricket Final - Aus vs SL - Feb 2006
Andrew went up with some old work buddies from Fujitsu to watch the game at the SCG. It turned out to be one of the greatest (and higehst scoring) one day innings played by a One Day Side, needless to say, the poor Sir Lankan's had nothing and were soudnl
J-Club Sydney Karaoke Trip 0505
Just when you thought you were out of the loop, the UCU Japan Club comes back with an invite to their Annual Sydney Karaoke Trip. I never realised Sydney had such a good Karaoke bar... it was sooooooo much fun. Many thanks to Erana again, if she ever rea
Montague Island 19-02-2006
I joined the team at InDepth Scuba on a club dive to Montague Island. My first dive after completing my open water licence. Montague island is about 8Ks off Narooma. Home to a male seal colony and a couple of grey nurse sharks during the warmer periods it
Bungendore Fireworks
Saturday the 18th of June, 2005. Clinton Lee decides to (out of the blue) invite me and a bunch of friends along to a fireworks show (+bonfire) out at a property near Bungendore. The fireworks were way better than SkyFire, though my camera doesn't do them
Japan Club - Mogo 0603
Well, new Japanese students in town means another Beach Trip to Mogo! This time we went to Broulee and then McKenzies beaches and had a ball. Lotsa food, beer, sand and sun! ... Can't wait for Karaoke in Sydney.
J-Club Sydney Karaoke Trip 0506
Hah... This was an awesome trip... 18 delinquents on a chartered Murray's coach to Sydney for a night of noise pollution.
Andrew's Supra
Here are some pictures of Andrew's 1990 Toyota Supra. It's money pit. But a nice looking and fast moving money pit..
Hong Kong 0606 - Kowloon / Central
6 Million people on a land mass the size of Tasmania (..if that..) equals chaos, smell, mess, complexity and confusion. I loved every minute of it and here is the first 3 days worth of pics... Welcome to Kowloon (the _real_ side) of Hong Kong and Central
Lauren's 21st
So.. the theme was "1920's: Gangsters and Moles" ... but we thought we'd add a little of the "now". So we bling'd up our black suits and ... no one had any idea what we were on about....
National Museum of Australia -- Hyatt
Random shots at work taken with my Motorola V3 RAZR... As you can tell, I have to remember to hold my hand REALLY still!
