Hi Voodle,

Thank you for these links! It’s been amazing to watch the decay of links I’ve posted on this blog… seeing them fail after only a few years. Archive.org is literally priceless for our hobby and I thank you for referring to the CDs here. I do wish Archive.org would let Google bots in to let us search their archive a lot easier.

As for my machine, it’s long gone… but I’m sure your information will help a lot of other people!

I have a similar Picturebook C1VFK and I can give you some help with the Windows Me driver situation – Janus Cycle (see this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQeBwtBBudY) kindly shared the recovery disks for their C1V laptop on the Internet Archive.
I don’t recommend trying the restore disk functionality directly, I’ve already had a go at that and it wouldn’t load onto my C1VFK when the disks are for a C1VP.
But if you look in the ISO for disk 2 of that archive, it has the Windows Millenium drivers and applications: https://ia902907.us.archive.org/view_archive.php?archive=/32/items/disk-1-of-2/Disk%202%20of%202.iso

Loading the video driver from that got the proper resolution working for me and should for you also.

One last thing – I recommend removing the green RTC battery, it leaks over time and that has damaged some of the functionality on my C1VFK Picturebook.

It seems so! As mentioned in the other post, I’ll dig through my media and see if I can find the files.

Problem – where to download drivers for Windows XP?
In 2021, all links are dead.
